hola dear ones. abel and i are catching a ferry from the island of ometepe in 10 minutes. so this will be short and sweet. thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. it seems i caught something like the dengue for my bday, but i healed quickly. after a day of rest i was back on my feet. the following day, the 23, was like my birthday. abel and i went hiking and were watched by all the curious howler monkeys in the trees. we walked out onto a sand bar into the lake and it stretches out so far that it appears as though you are walking on water. this explains why they call it punto jesus. so we walked on the water more or less and turned around to see the most spectacular view of the two volcanoes at sunset. we hitched a ride out and while waiting at the bus stop we made some new friends with the children of esquipulas. these children said they were the owners of mango trees and watermelons and new fruits we had never tried. they ran home and got some of each for us to try. so by the time the bus came our arms were filled with fruits. it was a fruitful day!! love to you all. we will be home in less than a week, trish

Hello Dear Ones!
Trish I am so happy to hear you had a very happy b-day(even if you did have to celebrate a day late)! i was thinking of you all day! Not to remind you how soon your trip wull be ending, but I have been counting down the days until your return for the past week and a half now. It is time to get your living on. Time to squeeze the last few drops of juice from your trip. Fill your soul, your bellies, and your eyes with the splendor around you. Let the colors sing with you, dance inside of you, and burn to your brain with their brilliance. Your lives will never be the same now. Rage, rage, rage and return safely unto those who love you dearly. Miss you much and can not wait to see you, hug you, and as you tell your wild stories I will also try to help you remember just how crazy your friend kimmie really is.
