Amigos!
I really enjoyed your responses to our recycled art project! We have had two days of kids so far and have learned a few things. The kids are great, although there where about 20, 10 more than we expected! They are really sweet and patient when we are describing the projects, probably because they have to really listen to understand our weird accents and limited vocab. we've stuck to some pretty simple projects, magazine beads (cuentas), maracas, and a little game you can play with a "cup" a sting and a weight.
Last week we had Spanish class from 2-7 each day and stayed with separate families. It was really great to get thrown back into speaking Spanish, but a bit tiring. My family was pretty much all business, which was not the best but it was understandable since they have a new student every few weeks.
That is about it for now. Tomorrow we have a group of kids again, we may try some more advanced projects. Saturday we go volunteer for the weekend at a village with some Guatemalans, then it is off to the lake for some relaxation...
